Lee Jamison’s work is featured in the Main Gallery of the Pearl this fall, in an exhibition titled Ode to East Texas: The Art of Lee Jamison. He spent more than a year traveling the tree-lined passages of East Texas, observing, sketching, and journaling along the way. The result is a rich record of the land, lore and culture of East Texas as viewed through the eyes of an accomplished painter.
Jamison’s paintings are a sensory expedition, inviting guests to wander along sun-dappled trails,
see the home of the Caddo tribes that first settled in the area, inhale the earthy scent of pine,
and feel the rhythm of life that beats within the heart of East Texas.
Ode to East Texas continues through January 6, 2024. Museum hours are Tuesday through
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. For more information visit pearlmfa.org.
