All classes are limited in size and offered in a socially distanced setting.

Adult Intro to Watercolor

Mondays, 1:00pm-3:00pm
Dates: 09/09/24-10/21/24, 7 Weeks
Instructor: Billie Scalisi

Description: ​Jump into the world of watercolor! Learn the basics of watercolors such as how to layer, blend, and flood. Delve into color theory and proportions by creating some fall inspired pieces.

This class is recommended for beginners.

Adult Beginner's Watercolor

Tuesday, 1:00pm-3:00pm
Dates: 09/10/24-10/22/24, 7 Weeks
Instructor: Billie Scalisi

​Description: Join instructor Billie Scalisi to learn watercolor painting techniques including pouring paint to create moods and how to approach subject matters like landscapes, florals and animals. We will experiment with positive and negative painting to add interest to our designs. We will use glazing which allows watercolor artists to build layers in your work and we will learn how to paint loose creating those classic, soft watercolor effects. All of these techniques can be applied to your own practice and help you continue to develop your watercolor style.

Adult Ceramics

Description:
Designed for both, first-time and experienced students, this class offers instructions in different hand-building techniques, surface design,and sculpting as well as various ways of decorating pieces with under-glaze paints.
During the course, depending on the student’s familiarity with clay the instructor will teach how to advance from beginning ceramic ware to your own creative designs and/or abstract pieces.

Adult Watercolor Portraits

Thursdays, 3:30pm-5:30pm

​Description:
Join instructor Billie Scalisi to learn how to create watercolor portraits. Students will progress through specific studies of facial features, learn proportion and finally how to capture the likeness of their subject matter. Students will advance from small watercolor studies to larger final pieces during this 7 week course. Each week will focus on new techniques to advance their comfortability with using watercolor for portraiture. This class is open to beginners and intermediate students.

Into to Stippling and Illustration

Join us for an enriching class in stippling and illustration designed specifically for those looking to explore the art of pen-and-ink techniques. In this course, participants will delve into the meticulous world of stippling, a method where images are created using dots of varying sizes and densities. ​You will learn about the basics of stippling in illustration work such as different type of dots and their effects on shading and texture, composition, design, depth, texture, and precision. This class welcomes all levels of experience.

Drawing, Intro to Portraiture Part One

Learn the ins and outs of portraiture with Marisol Graham this fall! In this class, you will discover the fundamental techniques of blending, shading, and layering with pencils and Prismacolors. No prior experience is necessary to embark on this artistic journey. This is the first part to the Drawing, Intro to Portraiture class series.

Dates: 10/18/24-11/15/24, 5 Weeks
Instructor: Marisol Graham
