Baby Basics Sewing Design

Wednesdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Instructor: Hailey Cleveland
Dates: 04/02/25-05/07/25, 6 Weeks

Description:
Week one and two: Basic Baby Mobile Dates: 04/02- 04/09

These are simple hand sewn mobiles that you will learn to craft over the course of two classes. There will be two themes to pick from: Forest and Ocean. I have designed a mobile that can be as simple or as complicated as you wish! The animals themselves are completely detachable and 100% baby safe. While the stuffed animals will be made from felt and stuffing, the rest of your mobile can be decorated with beads, ribbon and even items that you bring with you to be incorporated. There will also be an opinion to make your mobile more like an art piece. This means that it will not be safe for your baby to chew on, however, you can add rhinestones and fabric paint to create something beautiful to look at.

Week three and four: Basic Baby Swaddle Dates: 04/16- 4/23

Swaddling a baby is a method used by mothers, grandmothers, and midwives since the beginning of time, and is a wonderful way for most babies to feel safe, secure, and “at home” so that they can fully relax their bodies and go to sleep. There will be two types of swaddles that are simple to create and adorable to look at. You will have the options to make matching animal themed swaddles, or a simple pull over cocoon swaddle. Your babies will be safe and comfortable while they sleep in something that you made with love.

Week five and six: The Matching Basics Set Dates: 04/30- 05/07

This set includes two different styles of bibs, a burp cloth, mittens, and a teething ring. You will have a variety of fabric to choose from when you cut your patterns for your matching set! This class will be 30 minutes longer than the other two courses because cutting your patterns will take the most time. I will walk you through each step and guide you to making a product that you and your child will treasure. Here’s to  cuing, pinning, and sewing with love!

Cost: Members-$130 Non-members $140 for all 6 weeks. Ala carte projects can be purchased in 2 week increments at $50.
