Kelsee Carlile (b. 1999) is a Houston based artist who earned her BFA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting from the University of Houston. She is a current Masters Student at the Florence Academy of Art. Carlile works primarily with oil painting and lithography printmaking, techniques that allow her to merge traditional craftsmanship with modern artistic expression. Her work draws inspiration from the old masters, particularly the painting techniques of the 1500s, where she explores the use of light, depth, and texture to create rich, layered compositions. She aims to revive and reinterpret these classical methods, blending them with contemporary fantasy elements to create pieces that feel both timeless and unique.
