Clay and Jewelry Making Workshop

Unleash your creativity in this fun, hands-on Clay and Jewelry Making Workshop designed for adults eager to explore the world of handmade art! Led by teaching artist Elizabeth Frazier, this session is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, no prior art experience is required. Learn to mold, shape, and bake polymer clay into unique, wearable art pieces then design and assemble your own necklaces, bracelets, and earrings using a variety of beads and materials. We’ll cover clay conditioning, cutting, baking logistics, finishing/top coat, plus basic beading techniques and findings.
Whether you are looking to try something new, bond with a group, or dive deeper into the art of jewelry making, this workshop offers a relaxed, inspiring environment to create and connect.

In this workshop designed for art educators of all grade levels, participants can expect a docent led tour with interactive gallery activities, a classroom session led by a museum educator whereby teachers will investigate strategies for engaging art criticism discussions and activities in their classroom, a pdf containing resources used in the workshop, and an opportunity to network with other art educator in the area!

Batik is both an art and a craft, which is becoming ever more popular and well known among contemporary artists all over the world, as a wonderfully creative medium. The art of decorating cloth using wax and dye has been practiced for centuries in many parts of the world including China, Japan, India, South America, and Europe. Guest Art instructor, Jacqui Tran, will demonstrate the authentic method she was trained in while living in Malaysia. Following her demonstration, students will create a batik using age-appropriate techniques.
