Join us at Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts for Musique chez moi on Sunday, November 2nd at 3:00 PM. Enjoy a lively concert featuring music from around the world, including musical theater, folk songs, opera, and spirituals, all performed by pianist Roger Keele and singers Rose Kearin and James Silva. Audience members are encouraged to wear festive, culturally-inspired attire for a fun afternoon. Seating is limited, so get your tickets early and come celebrate global music with us!
Roger Keele holds the degree Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Houston. As well, he holds degrees from the University of North Texas in Piano Performance and from the University of Illinois in Vocal Coaching and Accompanying. An artist of unusual versatility, Keele has enjoyed success in fields as diverse as vocal coaching and accompanying, stage directing, solo performing and musical composition. He served as the Assistant Director of the Houston Symphony Chorus in their 2002-2003 Season. From 2012 until 2017 he was the full- time vocal coach at Sam Houston State University. Five volumes of his art songs are published by Classical Vocal Reprints. Keele is also the founding artistic director of the St. Cecilia Chamber Music Society, Musique chez moi: NW Houston House Concerts, and the founding Music Director of the Lone Star Lyric Theater. He has appeared on numerous occasions as a performing artist with FACE
James Silva just graduated Sam Houston State University with his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. He has sung overseas in Italy for the Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti program in Italy. This past summer, he sang for Contempo to play a lead role in La Carretera, combining opera, circus, and dance at the Opera Theater In The Heights. James is currently teaching voice in the Pearland and Alvin school districts.
