Summer Camp

The Pearl is excited to announce its 2024 Summer Art Camps!
Summer Art Camps will be held each week from June 3 through August 2. Camps offer a variety of themes in all-day or half-day formats, for ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 12.

Each day, children will spend time in the galleries of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts. This summer, the Pearl is excited to present a brand new exhibition, “The Toy Canvas: Artists at Play.” Surrounded by the magic of play and the infinite possibilities of our imagination, campers
will be inspired to head back to their studio classrooms and create their own works of art.

Among the many options for this summer’s art camps are Toys in Art, Comics and Character Design, Puppets, Fashion Design and much more. Campers explore new mediums, techniques, and principles of art through hands-on visual art lessons, outdoor activities, and special instruction from guest artists. Through it all, they learn the principles of art, artistic processes, art history and more.

All classes are limited in size and offered in a socially distanced setting. Summer camp classes are held in the mueum’s art classroom and in the George Bush Community Center.

When children get a chance to express their creativity and dive into art, they develop confidence, increase their empathy, and discover how to look at the world from different perspectives. All those skills help prepare students to take on the world with passion and creativity.

Treat your child, grandchild, or friend to a gift of art!
