About Union Station at Minute Maid Park
Union Station opened on March 1, 1911, and was designed by the architects Warrent and Wetmore, who also worked on New York’s Grand Central Terminal. When constructed, it was the largest railroad passenger station in the Southwest, with its soaring central hall and its grand columns. Today, the beautifully renovated station is a part of Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.
